There are times when it is profitable to one’s growth to rest and just listen…

Many times in life I have heard not to “judge a book by its cover”. I sometimes think it needs to be re-written, “cover yourself by the book”.

I lay upon chairs hearing voices around me. Words did not matter; it was enough to feel hearts.  Love was in this room and I soaked in its presence.

I found a rock I could not move and decided I’d build my house upon it.

In the midst of a world that is always talking I find refreshment in meeting someone who is listening.

The genuine is the treasure but fool’s gold shines enough we get distracted.

The tongue wants to break free of its holds; desiring to speak opinions, casual thoughts and defensive diatribe. Mentally I must add another rope to tie it down. Temptation takes a pass this day so that love can be served in what I don’t say.
